Our family had been in Kilfenora for over 200 years and we all look great, well those of us still alive! I grew up in the family run pub, Vaughan's Pub
next door to the hostel – the land on which the hostel was built was a sheep yard where sheep sales were held every Monday it was opened by my dad John Vaughan in 1973 and closed in 1992, a sad day for our family and the wider farming community.
My parents Kay and John had always spoken about opening a hostel when we were kids and I was the obvious person to run things as I had spent years trekking around the world. So in October 2005 the hostel opened and it’s had its ups and down but we’re still speaking to one another!
It would be great if you could come and stay with us and experience why I gave up the rest of the world for this unique part to the world!
Thanks Orla.
